Creating custom clockfaces for AClock is as easy as copy & paste. However, there are some guidelines you should follow for best results:
* Try to use a square picture:
AClock resizes your picture to fit its 70 pixel square window. If your picture is not square, it will become distorted.
* Try to use a small picture:
You could use a full-page, 24 bit color picture for a clock face, but to do so, you'd need to give AClock a whole lot of memory to run. You're better off if you can find or make a picture closer to the clock's actual size (70x70 pixels) and at a lower color depth.
The map clockface above is from the scrapbook and is actually fairly large (360 x 178 pixels). As a result, it's a fairly hefty 12K in size. The other pictures above are each 6K or less.
* Quit after pasting a picture:
If you quit after pasting a picture, the custom picture is written to disk. AClock will manage memory better if it can write the custom picture to disk rather than having to keep it in memory.
* If something really weird happens, try trashing your "AClock Prefs" file
Your "AClock prefs" file (located in the folder called "Preferences" in your System Folder) contains your custom clockface picture. If you ever have serious trouble getting AClock to work, throwing this file in the trash will reset the program to more-or-less its original state. (Note that you will have to enter your registration number again if you do this)
